Terms of Service

Effective July 25, 2026

These terms govern your use of MyLostProperty.org (the “Service”), operated by TheDataProject.AI,131 Continental Drive, Suite 305, Newark, DE 19713. By using the Service you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

What the Service is

MyLostProperty.org is a free tool that lets you search and browse unclaimed-property records aggregated from official government sources. It is provided for informational purposes to help you locate property that may belong to you and direct you to the official program to claim it.

Not a government agency; no affiliation

We are an independent service and are not a government agency. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any state unclaimed-property program, the National Association of Unclaimed Property Administrators (NAUPA), or the federal government. Official claims are handled by the state programs, not by us.

No fees; we don't process claims

The Service is free. We do not charge to search, we do not file claims on your behalf, and we do not take a percentage of anything you recover. Searching and claiming unclaimed property is free through the official programs — see is it really free?

Accuracy & no guarantee

Records come from third-party government sources and are provided “as is.” They may be incomplete, outdated, duplicated, or contain errors, and a record may already have been claimed and removed from the source. We do not guarantee that any record is accurate, that you will find property, or that you will be able to recover it. Always verify a match and file your claim through the official program. Nothing here is legal, financial, or tax advice.

Acceptable use

Use the Service for your personal, lawful purpose of finding property that belongs to you or those you're authorized to help. Don't scrape, bulk-download, overload, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, and don't use it to harass, defraud, or invade the privacy of others.

Third-party links

The Service links to official state programs and other third-party sites. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content, accuracy, or practices.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MyLostProperty.org and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your use of — or inability to use — the Service or from reliance on any record or information it provides.

Changes

We may update the Service and these terms; we'll revise the effective date above when we do. Continued use means you accept the current terms.
