Privacy Policy
Effective July 25, 2026
MyLostProperty.org (“we,” “us”) is operated by TheDataProject.AI, 131 Continental Drive, Suite 305, Newark, DE 19713. It provides a free search over publicly published unclaimed-property records, with no user accounts, and collects as little as possible. This policy explains what we handle and what we don't.
Information we handle
Your searches. When you search, the terms you enter (such as a name, city, state, or ZIP) are sent to our servers to return matching records. You are not required to create an account or tell us who you are, and we don't ask you to prove that a search is about you.
Standard technical data. Like most websites, our hosting keeps routine logs — such as IP address, browser type, and timestamps — used to operate the site, prevent abuse, and keep it secure. We may use aggregate analytics to understand overall usage (for example, which pages are popular). We do not use this data to build an advertising profile of you.
Email you send us. If you email us, we receive your message and address so we can respond.
Email alerts. If you sign up for a match alert, we store the email address you provide and the search you saved, so we can notify you when a new match appears. We use it only for that alert, every alert email includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
What we do not do
We do not sell your personal information. We do not require an account, and we do not use your searches to contact you, market to you, or build a profile about you. We are not the source of the unclaimed-property records — those are public records published by government programs (see our data sources).
Service providers
We rely on third parties to run the site — including a cloud hosting provider and a managed database provider — which process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy terms. We share information with them only as needed to operate the service.
Cookies
The site works without requiring you to log in. We use only the cookies or local storage needed for the site to function and, where applicable, basic analytics. You can block cookies in your browser settings; core search will still work.
Children
The site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13.
Your choices & requests
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access or delete personal information we hold about you. Because we don't maintain accounts, we typically hold little to none. To make a request or ask a question, email info@thedataproject.ai.
Changes
We may update this policy; we'll revise the effective date above when we do. Continued use of the site means you accept the current version.
