Every record on MyLostProperty.org comes from an official government source. We aggregate the bulk data that state unclaimed-property programs publish, plus select municipal open-data portals, and make it searchable in one place. We never add, alter, or invent records — we standardize names and addresses for search and link you back to the official program to claim.

Where the data comes from
Our records are loaded from official state unclaimed-property programs — such as California, Texas, Wisconsin, Montana, and Alaska — along with select municipal open-data portals. We are actively adding more programs. Because large state programs hold property owed to people who lived or did business there from all over the country, you may find records here no matter which state you live in now.
For any program we haven't loaded yet, the National Association of Unclaimed Property Administrators (NAUPA) maintains the authoritative directory of every state's official program at unclaimed.org.
How often it's refreshed
State programs republish their bulk files on their own schedules — some annually, some more often. Our importer checks for updated files and loads new records as they're published, so the data here tracks the official sources. It was last refreshed on July 26, 2026.Because a record is removed from a state's file once it's claimed, always confirm a match against the official program before assuming it's still available.
